Microenvironment Cell Populations-counter (MCP-counter) analysis using a gene set for HNSCC generated from TCGA (https://cancergenome.nih.gov, n = 348) indicated that high NOVA1 expression is significantly correlated with greater abundance of immune cells, including T cells, CD8+ T cells, cytotoxic lymphocytes, NK cells, B cells, monocytes, and myeloid dendritic cells, as well as stromal cells of fibroblasts and endothelial cells. The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
