IGHE and food allergy: Nearly twice as many children (n = 206) and adults (n = 273) reported that they were allergic to sesame (0.49%; 95% CI, 0.40%-0.58); however, half of these individuals reported reaction symptoms that did not meet established criteria1,2 for convincing, IgE-mediated food allergy classification and therefore were not included in overall, convincing food allergy estimates.
