Hereditary ATTR manifests as sensorimotor neuropathy, autonomic neuropathy, cardiomyopathy, and nephropathy, whereas wtATTR mainly affects the heart, especially in men ˃60 years old (Table 1) (Carr et al., 2016; Conceicao et al., 2016; Connors et al., 2016; Maurer et al., 2016). The gene discussed is TTR; the disease is autonomic neuropathy.
