Most notably, apigenin was shown to synergistically enhance the action of cyclophosphamide and chlorambucil; significantly decreasing ATP levels and increasing caspase 3 activity in both lymphoid and myeloid leukaemia cell lines (P ≤ 0.05) (Supplementary Figures 2 and 3); shown here in the Jurkat and the THP-1 leukaemia cell lines (Figures 1 and 2).
