They not only found increased ROS in type I and type III latency but also noticed two mechanisms of EBV infection: in type 1 latency associated with absence of LMP1, EBER induced IL-10, which in turn induced ROS, while in type III latency, oncoprotein LMP1 induced ROS as a potential mechanism of cancer development.
