Taking into account this question, in this study, we investigated whether the selective bidirectional optogenetic modulation of local PL-mPFC calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II alpha (CaMKIIα) expressing neurons during the delay-period of a delayed non-match to sample (DNMS) WM task can affect the prefrontal-hippocampal connectivity and behavioral performance in neuropathic pain animals.
