CXCR7 has shown increased expression in animals treated with anti‐SDF‐1 vs controls.18 Of note, Wang et al reported that overexpression and inhibition of CXCR7 influenced the concentration of interleukin 8 (IL‐8) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and vascular sprout formation.19 In addition, Hao observed that the expression of CXCR7 may be involved in the formation of tumor blood vessels, and noted that CXCR7 alters the expression of VEGF and IL‐8. This evidence concerns the gene ACKR3 and neoplasm.
