At present, the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved several drugs for the treatment of melanoma, which include dacarbazine and interleukin 2 for advanced melanomas, interferon α for adjuvant treatment of surgically resected high-risk disease, and ipilimumab, a monoclonal antibody against the T-lymphocyte antigen, for advanced melanomas.[1,8] These drugs may be useful in the treatment of melanomas of the female reproductive tract.
