Previous studies have demonstrated that Sal B could exert a therapeutic effect on neurodegenerative diseases, the mechanism of which involves inhibiting Aβ aggregation and fiber formation, decreasing Aβ neurotoxicity, decreasing tau protein hyperphosphorylation, preventing neuroinflammation and oxidative damage, inhibiting apoptosis, restoring mitochondrial dysfunction, and promoting neurogenesis. This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and neurodegenerative disease.
