Whether 1,2-CYCLOPENTANEDIONE is PPARγ agonist or not need to be investigated experimentally, however, the cardiac hypertrophy in zebrafish embryos by seeds extract of M. charantia mimics the PPARγ agonist phenotype, which means 1,2-CYCLOPENTANEDIONE could be PPARγ agonist as well and hence 1,2-CYCLOPENTANEDIONE which has been identified as a major compound in seeds extract could be causing agent for cardiac hypertrophy in zebrafish embryos. Here, PPARG is linked to cardiac hypertrophy.
