Many studies have reported that immunization with the probiotics GR-1 and RC-14 can increase CD4 count in patients with acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) [13], and regulate TNF (tumor necrosis factor)-alpha, IL (interleukin)-6, IL-8, IL-10 and IL-12 (p70) in the neurogenic bladders of patients with spinal cord injuries with urinary tract infections [14].
