CYGB and infection: Infection with B. microti reduced the hematocrit (HCT) count, hemoglobin (HGB) percentage, and red blood cell (RBC) count in mouse blood, as observed in the DDW control group on days 8, 12, 16, and 20 p.i. Significantly higher differences (p < 0.05) in HCT count, HGB percentage, and RBC count were observed between the DDW control group and all drug-treated groups on days 8, 12, 16, and 20 (Fig. 5a–c).
