Response of B lymphocytes to 48‐h stimulation with TRANK1‐derived instead of TSNARE1‐derived peptide antigens could enhance the proportion of CD83+ cells and apoptotic B cells (Figs 1 and 2), suggesting that different schizophrenia‐related autoantigens have different effects on induction of central B‐cell tolerance, further supporting the role of immune tolerance breakdown in the development of schizophrenia. The gene discussed is TRANK1; the disease is schizophrenia.
