To address the role of adipose ILC1s in adipose tissue fibrogenesis, stromal vascular fractions (SVFs) from control subjects were co-cultured with either CD45+ cells or ILCs depleted CD45+ cells sorted from the SVFs of obese T2D patients (Fig. 2c; Supplementary Fig. 1d); meanwhile, both trehalose-6,6’-dimycolate, a mycobacterial cell wall glycolipid that is known to be a macrophage-inducible c-type lectin (Mincle) ligand17, and palmitate were added to mimic the in vivo microenvironment.
