Maximal fat oxidation rates expressed in mg.min− 1 and relative to total body mass (Fig. 3) were higher in healthy controls than JIA with TNF blockade and JIA without TNF blockade (225.3 ± 92.9, 163.2 ± 59.0, 134.3 ± 45.2 mg.min− 1, p = 0.008 and 4.7 ± 1.8, 3.4 ± 0.8, 3.1 ± 1.2 mg.min− 1.kg− 1, p = 0.003, respectively). The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
