In vitro, p53 protein levels were upregulated in PyMT-cancer cells in the presence of the conditioned medium from ZEB1-deleted CAFs relative to the conditioned medium generated from control CAFs, and the upregulated levels of p53 were completely reversed in PyMT-cancer cells in the presence of the conditioned medium generated from ZEB1/p53-deleted CAFs (Supplementary Fig. 7f).
