In fact, we find that ZEB1 ablation in stromal CAFs increases acetylation, expression and recruitment of p53 to FGF2, FGF7, VEGF and IL6 promoters and thus reduces their productions and secretions to the surrounding stroma, thereby creating a tumour-suppressive microenvironment that inhibits breast cancer growth and progression. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is breast carcinoma.
