To study further the role of AKT in SRT2183-induced autophagy in glioma cells, we transfected the glioma cells with either wild type AKT or myr-AKT (activated AKT) or vector in LN229 and U87MG cells, followed by exposure of the cells to SRT2183 for 6 h and subsequent examination of LC3II abundance by immunoblotting. Here, AKT1 is linked to central nervous system cancer.
