ST6GAL1 and colonic neoplasm: In many cancers, glycosylation is closely related to the patient's prognosis: Phaseolus vulgaris leukoagglutinating lectin (L‐PHA) reactive oligosaccharides are reported to be associated with patients’ prognosis in non‐small cell lung cancer,2 and alpha 2,6‐sialic acid and ST6Gal1 are upregulated in hepatoma and colon cancers.3 Alpha 2,6‐sialic acid may play a significant role in carcinogenesis in hepatoma or colon cancer.
