In conclusion, we have provided strong evidence for the binding interactions among WWOX, TIAF1 and p53, and the firmly established WWOX/TIAF1/p53 protein triad exerts strong cancer suppression by blocking cancer cell migration, anchorage-independent growth and SMAD promoter activation, and inducing apoptosis (see Summary illustration, Fig. 8). The gene discussed is WWOX; the disease is cancer.
