ESR1 and triple-negative breast carcinoma: Previous reports by our group describing the role of ACSL4 in the aggressiveness of breast cancer1–3 have shown high expression and mRNA levels of this enzyme in highly aggressive triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) cell lines, which lack estrogen receptor alpha (ERα) and progesterone receptor and do not overexpress human epidermal growth factor 2 receptor protein, as compared to ERα-expressing cells of lower aggressiveness.
