To further verify whether SOX12 was a direct target of miR-326 in breast cancer cells, a luciferase-reporter assay was performed in MCF-7 cells, revealing that overexpression of miR-326 clearly inhibited the luciferase activity of the WT-SOX12 3′-UTR, not but that of MT-SOX12 3′-UTR activity (Figure 4B). Here, SOX12 is linked to breast carcinoma.
