Previous experimental studies demonstrated that TM6SF2 siRNA inhibition was associated with a reduced secretion of triglyceride‐rich lipoproteins and an increased triglyceride aggregation in hepatocytes, whereas TM6SF2 overexpression was associated with reduced liver cell steatosis (Li et al., 2018; Mahdessian et al., 2014). Here, TM6SF2 is linked to steatosis.
