MMP2 and hepatocellular carcinoma: This fact seems to favor its action in the HCC, since in vitro and in vivo studies already demonstrated its performance through several mechanisms of action in the fight against this disease, such as: ROS prevention (3, 30), prooxidant action (29, 57), angiogenesis (18), suppression of MMP-2 and MMP-9, (18, 60), justifying the differences in the results found.
