FOXO6 is a transcription factor mostly found in the nucleus (Jacobs et al., 2003; Link, 2019) that has been recently linked to EMT as its silencing has been associated with reduced cell proliferation, migration and invasion in colon cancer cells, via the inhibition of PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway (Li et al., 2018). This evidence concerns the gene FOXO6 and malignant colon neoplasm.
