Consequently, multiple targets including the inhibition of key enzyme implicated in AD like acetylcholinesterase (AChE), butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), β-amyloid cleaving enzyme (BACE-1), monoamine oxidase (MAO) and antioxidant agents are currently under investigation as a new therapeutic class of anti-Alzheimer’s agents (Grill and Cummings, 2010; Ahmad et al., 2016; Balducci and Forloni, 2018; Chaudhary et al., 2018).
