Although there are publications describing molecular mechanisms of C. elegans models for AD [35, 36], as we expected, there are few publications studying AD or Abeta accumulation in C. elegans. We only found two hub genes in C. elegans that have already been previously reported to be associated to Abeta accumulation, including mec-12 that encodes alpha tubulin subunit [37], and daf-16 that mediates proteostasis to tolerate β-amyloid toxicity [38].
