PI3K signaling plays a major role in cell survival, growth and proliferation.33 PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway is most commonly deregulated pathway in lung cancer.34 Most of the studies conducted on NSCLC revealed there is 50% to 70% increase in the expression of AKT protein due to the abnormal activation of PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling.35 The drug which inhibits the over expression of PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling molecules may be potent drug to treat lung cancer. This evidence concerns the gene MTOR and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
