The KEGG and GO functional enrichment analyses of identified EI and ES genes were performed by the ClusterProfiler package for R. The results of the enrichment analysis revealed that EI genes were enriched in KEGG biological pathways associated with regulation of focal adhesion, proteoglycans in cancer and ECM-receptor interaction (Supplementary Fig. S2A), and ES genes are mainly enriched in pathways associated with regulation of the cell cycle, DNA replication, mismatch repair, and the p53 signaling pathway (Supplementary Fig. S2B), which are important signaling pathways. Here, TP53 is linked to cancer.
