TNNI3 and myocardial infarction: Four of the included 13 studies (Pérez-Cárceles et al., 2004 [27]; Martínez Díaz et al., 2005 [28]; Batalis et al., 2010 [30]; and Sapouna et al., 2013 [33]) focused on the discrepancies of postmortem cTn I concentrations in pericardial fluid between the cardiac death group and the group which involved other causes of death, and it was found that the cardiac death in all four studies was due to myocardial infarction.
