NRF3, which was originally discovered by our group [4], belongs to the cap “N” collar (CNC) family of six transcription factors, including NRF2 (NFE2L2) and NRF1 (NFE2L1); NRF2 is a famous cancer driver gene and an oxidative stress response transcription factor, and NRF1 sustains proteostasis by mediating proteasome gene expression [5,6,7]. Here, NFE2L2 is linked to cancer.
