We further observed that, similar to BC, MIR888 hypomethylation also occurs in all cancer types with reported miR-888-5p overexpression, which arise from tissues other than testis, such as prostate [32, 33], endometrial [34], breast [35], hepatocellular [36], and colon tumors [37] (Additional File 4, Figure S3). The gene discussed is MIR888; the disease is breast cancer.
