CCN3 and Osteopenia: Rydziel et al. indicated that CCN3 inhibits osteoblastogenesis and causes osteopenia in vivo [21] and another research group also found that CCN3 inhibits osteoblast differentiation through the inhibition of BMP-2 expression in osteoblast precursor cells [20], while a higher dosage of CCN3 (600 ng/mL) inhibits the differentiation of primary bone marrow cells [24].
