Bermúdez-Humarán et al. [21] compared the efficacy of lactobacillus secreting Elafin, IL-10, and TGF-β1 in the mouse models of colitis, suggesting that lactic acid bacteria producing IL-10 or TGF-β1 only worked on some inflammatory parameters, but administration of Elafin led to a significant reduction of all inflammatory indicators. This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and colitis.
