Previous studies reported that i) the DMH1 BMP inhibitor prevents tumor burden in breast cancer and lung metastatic growth (Owens et al., 2015); ii) halofuginone, a dual BMP and TGFβ inhibitor, reduces breast cancer osteolytic lesions (Juarez et al., 2017); and iii) the BMP antagonist noggin prevents development of osteolytic lesions of prostate cancer cells (Feeley et al., 2006). This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and breast cancer.
