Specifically, previous studies have found that SNPs within Cdh23 were correlated with BMI [45], SNPs in Tph2 were correlated with obesity [44], SNPs in Prox1 were correlated with glucose metabolism [47], SNPs in Lipc were correlated with cholesterol [48,49,50], and SNPs in Pnpla3 were correlated with hepatic lipid content [51]. Here, PROX1 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
