Indeed, human UV-induced cutaneous melanomas carry a clear UV-mutational signature and an important mutation burden with recurrent mutated genes such as BRAF, NRAS, HRAS, NF1, CDKN2A, TP53, and PTEN and the recently identified genes, such as PPP6C and RAC1 [80,82,95]. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is cutaneous melanoma.
