Taken together, it could be assumed that tenascin-C plays a crucial role in the hyper-stimulation of GBM cell proliferation through the effect of TNIIIA2, where a chain-like increase in PDGF production may occur as follows: inflammation-dependent high expression of tenascin-C, increase in tenascin-C-induced MMP-2, MMP-2-mediated TNIIIA2 liberation, TNIIIA2-induced PDGF expression, and further PDGF-induced tenascin-C expression (Figure 6).
