GLI2 and ovarian carcinoma: Furthermore, the authors revealed functional roles for several stem cell-related signaling pathways, such as TGF-β co-receptor endoglin and the hedgehog transcriptional mediator Gli2, in regulating chemotherapy resistance in ovarian cancer stem cells [40], thus raising the possibility that novel therapeutic strategies targeting these pathways in metastasized ovarian cancer stem cells would be attractive approaches to overcome chemotherapy resistance.
