CircRNA HECTD1 is highly abundant in brain, heart, and liver.13 In AIS, the potential source of circRNA HECTD1 is from brain since AIS is caused by the sudden loss of blood circulation to an area of the brain.2 CircRNA HECTD1 has been suggested as a regulator in the pathogenesis of AIS in tMCAO stroke models.7 However, the role of circRNA HECTD1 has not been evaluated in cardiovascular diseases in clinical studies. The gene discussed is HECTD1; the disease is cardiovascular disorder.
