Interestingly, among the top dysregulated hits, a set of genes (DEDD, ABCB10, UAP1, KCNJ9, and PSAT1) are located close together on chromosome 1q23.3–42.1 (Fig. 1d) and are co-amplified in >15% of breast tumors from 164 cancer genome studies (Fig. 1e). The gene discussed is DEDD; the disease is cancer.
