A few reports suggested that TGFβ is a neuroprotective factor depending on the signaling pathways in different environmental conditions [35,36], however, more studies report that TGFβ can cause BBB disruption, hemorrhage, neuroinflammation, and cell death in various neurological diseases, indicating its role as excitotoxic and inflammatory factor [37–41]. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and nervous system disorder.
