CLYBL and cancer: Previous studies have indicated a role for integrin αIIbβ3 and P-selectin in platelet interaction with cancer cells.20, 21To get further insights into the mechanism of PMPs interaction with MDA-MB-231 cells, we analyzed the effect of the integrin αIIbβ3 antagonist peptide RGDS and of the P-selectin blocking antibody CLB/thromb/6 (NOVUS Biologicals).Fig. 2Bshows that neither integrin αIIbβ3 nor P-selectin inhibition reduced the interaction of MDA-MB-231 cells with either type of PMPs.
