The second novel locus, DNM3 (sentinel-SNP: rs17361789), was proposed as a tumor suppressor gene for hepatocellular carcinoma (Inokawa et al., 2013) and is suspected to control carcinoma growth by activating p53 (Gu et al., 2017, p. 3), which is the gene product of the most significant locus detected in our study Tumor Protein 53 (TP53) (sentinel-SNP: rs78378222). This evidence concerns the gene DNM3 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
