Comparing CKD patients with healthy controls, we found that CKD individuals had higher levels of: TNFα 14.6 (2.4–42.5) vs. 7.1 (1.5–20.5) pg/mL (p = 0.014); IL-12p70 0.7 (0–19) vs. 0 (0–1.7) pg/mL (p = 0.002) and MCP-1 407 (21–886) vs. 254 (199–486) pg/mL (p = 0.002), as well as lower concentrations of Fetuin-A 0.31 (0.12–0.76) vs. 0.41 (0.18–0.84) g/L (p = 0.010). The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is chronic kidney disease.
