First, since WT1 has also been studied as a crucial regulator of mesenchymal–epithelial transition (MET) (a process commonly seen as inverse to EMT), our results suggest that both EMT and MET can be controlled by the same molecular network in a switch-like fashion, shedding further light on MET events during Wilms tumor progression and normal kidney development. The gene discussed is WT1; the disease is Nephroblastoma.
