Future work aimed at identifying the transcription factors required for the observed increase in GPER1 transcription and expression will provide a more complete understanding of D-glucose sensitive GPER1 regulation (Greer et al. 2009, Zhao et al. 2011, Sengupta et al. 2013) and may lead to the identification of additional markers for sensitivity of breast cancer cells to tamoxifen treatment. This evidence concerns the gene GPER1 and breast carcinoma.
