ACE and type 2 diabetes mellitus: The results of this study show that treatment with esaxerenone administered via a gradual stepwise titration approach from 1.25 to 2.5 and 5 mg/day achieves additional antihypertensive efficacy while reducing albuminuria when added to an ARB or ACE inhibitor in Japanese hypertensive patients with type 2 diabetes and albuminuria, and the safety profile of the regimen was manageable.
