Results of these studies show that hypoxia is involved in cerebral edema, tumorigenesis, myocardial ischemia and diabetes in human being, and some genes including Endothelin 1 (EDN1), Erythropoietin (EPO) and Aldosterone synthase (CYP11B2) are reported as the key genes of hypoxia adaptation11–14. This evidence concerns the gene EDN1 and myocardial ischemia.
