We have shown that in IBD patients stratified by neutrophil intrinsic GM-CSF signaling, low GMSI is driven by non-coding variants that significantly affect the expression of RCL1, JAK2 and AK3 genes and the binding of transcription factors that play a role in differentiation of gut epithelium, inflammation and regulation of the immune system. This evidence concerns the gene JAK2 and inflammatory bowel disease.
