Univariate analysis showed that Child-Pugh class (p < 0.001), AFP level >200 ng/ml (p = 0.011), tumor size > 5 cm (p < 0.001), portal vein thrombosis (p < 0.001), distant metastasis (p < 0.001), and the level of VEGF (p < 0.001) and TSP-1 (p = 0.039) were significantly associated with worse survival of patients with HCC.
